I am currently undergoing an internship at the Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission (KSERC), which commenced on 21 July 2025. I have been assigned to the Engineering Wing, where I am gaining practical exposure to the regulatory, technical, and analytical aspects of the electricity sector.
During this internship, I am working under the guidance of Shri. Sarmakumar C S., Consultant (Engineering), and Arakesh Madhu., Junior Consultant. Their continuous mentoring and support have significantly helped me improve my understanding of regulatory procedures, technical evaluations, and the analysis of documents related to the power sector.
During my internship, I had the opportunity to take part in field visits to key power generation facilities. These included the Sabarigiri Hydroelectric Project, where I gained practical insights into hydroelectric power generation, dam operations, and turbine–generator systems. I also visited the West Kallada Floating Solar Plant, which enhanced my understanding of floating solar technology and highlighted the benefits of utilizing water bodies for renewable energy production.
Overall, these experiences have offered valuable exposure to both the regulatory and operational dimensions of the power sector. They have strengthened my knowledge of energy systems, improved my ability to analyze regulatory frameworks, and provided a deeper understanding of real-world applications in the electricity industry. The internship continues to contribute significantly to the development of my technical expertise, analytical thinking, and professional skills.
